Pringle Creek
Watershed Council Minutes: July 11, 2006 Victor Dodier called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present were: Ed Emrick, Roger Heusser, Glenn Dolphin, Mary Liepins, Kathy Reid, Luca DeStefanis, Susan Kephart, Marcia Kelly, Victor Dodier, and John Savage. The Council discussed the budgeted project to daylight 250 feet of Clark Creek in Bush Park. Victor outlined a number of concerns about the project to expose a section of the Creek now enclosed by pipes. The Council decided to send a letter of concern and questions to the City of Salem Public Works. Discussions are underway with the Salem Rotary Club to build an elevated boardwalk and prepare new trail at less accessible sites at the Fairview Mitigation Wetlands. The Council decided to sponsor a work party in late August to restore the existing trail at the site. The Council is aiming for a major work party, involving local businesses and the Rotary, in October. Victor will put forward John Savage's name to serve on the Marion County Weed Advisory Council. Respectfully Submitted, John Savage, Secretary.
