Watershed Council Notes:
March 14, 2006
Victor Dodier called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Present were: Ed Emrick, Glenn Dolphin, Susan Kephart, Mary Liepins, Gail Simmons, Suzie Torre, Joan Grindeland, Clark Worth, Marcia Kelly, Victor Dodier, and John Savage.
The City will conduct two watershed surveys as part of the development of Pringle Creek Watershed Management Plan. One survey will be mailed to about 800 households within the Pringle Creek Watershed. Questions will focus on awareness of the watershed, problems and concerns about the watershed, solutions and priorities, and willingness to take steps to protect the watershed. A second survey will go to about 400 streambank property owners in the watershed. The Council offered suggestions to consultant Clark Worth about survey questions and ways to increase response to the surveys.
Ed Emrick discussed the proposed project to create a cedar hog-fuel walking path at the Fairview Mitigation Wetlands site. The Council will submit a grant request to the City to fund the project.
The Council will discuss amendments to its current work plan next meeting.
Respectfully Submitted, John Savage, Secretary.
